Departure by car to the ancient capital of Georgia – Mtskheta (UNESCO national treasure). Here we will visit the Jvari Monastery (translated from the cargo “Cross”), the 6th century AD, located on the top of the mountain at the confluence of the other rivers Aragvi and Kura, from where a beautiful view of the ancient capital of Georgia, Mtskheta, opens.
Visit to the Cathedral of Svetitskhoveli (translated from the cargo. “Life-giving pillar”), where the Chiton of the Lord is buried. Visit Samtavro monastery, which is translated from Georgian means “royal territory”. The temple is the tomb of the first rulers of Georgia: it is here that the remains of King Mirian and his wife Nino rest. In 1994, the monastery, like other monuments of the city, was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
